Welcome to 2009!

Well doesn’t time fly when you’re having fun! 2009 is here and we are drifting through the third month already! As some are aware we now have a fantastic home of Trackslide. Located at Trackside RC in Brendale, this is the first drift dedicated track in Australia. Featuring a ‘hotmix’ type surface with movable track edging, making the track possibilities endless. The pit area can accommodate up to 30 people snugly and there is even a drinks machine for when you need that all important hydration.

If you happen to make the venture out on a Tuesday night, you will notice that our practice nights are taking place, and everyone is welcome to come for a drift. You may even find some celebrities in the mix, mainly Serp/Mick (founder), Alex/Kaos (sponser/Kaos Tracksliders), Jeff (sponsor/Trackside RC) and our resident DJ Xany/Simon! With a vast range of music, he is always happy for some requests on the night. In the near future it looks as though we may even trial some comps every second Tuesday which may contain cash prizes! But more on that as it starts to take place.

As you will see upon entering the forums, is that we have been doing a little, much needed upgrading. Forums have now been upgraded to PhpBB3 and a new banner and theme has been designed. A few thanks need to be handed out for this, Domokun/Jase for the initial banner design, Jaymz/Steve for some photoshop work to make everything interconnect nicely, And lastly to Xany/Simon for the behind the scenes upgrade. Many man hours have been put in, and many late nights were ensured to get this completed.

We are going to have a few new goodies to grab on the shelves in the near future too. Yokomo have been hard at work designing new bodies and rims. Works XD9 Wheels for the Utsumi/ Origin Onevia and Works Emo XT7 Wheels for Takashi Haruyama’s C35 Laurel. Speedway Pal has also designed a new ‘Wangan Wing’ for that sleek yet classy look. And lastly Alex Racing Designs have a new body coming out shortly in the shape of a Nissan Laurel C33 which is very exciting.

Some say, less talk more Action… We say More Torque and Less Traction!

Xany's note: Massive thanks to Jaymz/Steve for doing this front page update!
