February 2008 Update

Brizdrift is back in 2008 for another year of super happy fun sliding! This year will mark the first ever annual RC Australian Drift Nationals which will most likely be held near the end of the year, the date is to be advised. A lot of planning is going into it as we want to make the first one a benchmark for many others to come…hopefully hosted in many different parts of Australia. The Gold Coast competition was a big success, Pro class was taken out by Koday with Danny second and Serp third. Intermediate class was won by Danny with Jamie coming in second.

Yokomo is in the process of launching a new shell….namely a Nissan S14. Looks quite sexy as you can see in the pictures below.

The Brizdrift Christmas meet was held in December with a few members coming all the way from Mackay and Newcastle, a massive effort from those guys. The meet was also a test for a new judging system for the nationals this year, so of course we had to have a competition. There was around 30 entrants and it all came together with Xany aka Simon taking out first place, James from Newcastle coming in with second and Serp aka Michael rounding up third place. It was a great afternoon/evening event with lots of fun involved.

So in the next few months we have a few surprises in store, so keep an eye out on the forums.

Cheers.

Well here we are, back again with more fun incoming. The NSW RC Drift titles have been run and won by none other than our founder Serp aka Michael, congratulations!

Port Macquarie Winners

It was an impressive competition with people coming up from sydney and 2 carloads from brisbane. We would like to thank the Port Macquarie guys for hosting the event and getting some interstate competition up and running.

Brizdrift has just announced that it will be hosting the first Australian RC Drift Nationals next year, although it will be big effort to bring it all together i'm sure that we can pull it off. However getting back to whats coming up in the following weeks ahead. We have a big month ahead of us with the first Gold Coast drift competition, it will be held on the 8th of december at Gilston model raceway, so make sure you write it down in your diary. After that we also have the annual Brizdrift Christmas meet on the 15th of december at cannon hill. Lots of prizes will be up for grabs along with drifting games for all to enjoy. The event will be sponsored by Trackside RC, RC Warehouse, Kaos Drift Tyres and of course Genki Doridori. A big thank you goes out to them!

Well thats just about it to get you up to date with whats happening in the next few months of the RC drift scene.

Cheers

September 2007 update

Well we have a big session of events coming up soon with AUTO SALON just around the corner and the NSW EP RC DRIFT TITLES closely following, it is most definitely going to test how good we rely are compared to the rest of Australia. For more information on these up coming events please see the events section on the forum.

Well with mini chassis from ABC Hobby and Active Hobby making a big splash in the rc drift scene, Yokomo has decided to follow the trend and is going to release a 1/16th scale drift chassis. please visit www.genkidoridori.com for the latest updates on this product.

A new style of  drift tyre in its baby stages being Japan at the moment but apparently its very unique style gives allot more traction on the straight but still has the ability to hold an awesome drift. It will be very interesting to watch how they develop this tyre further.

Tamiya is finally releasing the long awaited Tamiya TRF 416 especially designed to run the ever growing popular brushless systems and with the spectacular performances of the previous chassis in  TRF41 series the 416 is no doubt going to be a fantastic chassis in the race and drift scenes.

Welcome to 2007 from Brizdrift!

Thanks to our members and our sponsors, Brizdrift is back again for another full year of out-and-out sliding action.

With the forum's registrations approaching 500 members and our bandwidth near eclipsing it's share, it's a sign of the times that RC Drift is the way to go!.

We're seeing registrations from local 1:1 drifters from both guys and girls, as well as more and more registrations from countries overseas.

Last year, Brizdrift hit worldwide status with a number of innovative and world class bodies. Our member's rides, video footage, promotions and track days made headlines and have been well recognised by the WWW RC drift community.

A big shoutout goes to all of the new registrations that jumped on board towards the end of last year. The holliday season always sees new people catching on to the good fun we all have here! As always, thanks very much to all our regular members who contribute and update the world on what we do well.

On the forum side of things we've taken some initiatives to better regulate the increase in our popularity. The Mod Squad is active and ready to support you. If you need any help with registrations, please see the 'Site Related' section of the forum, otherwise we look forward to your introduction in the 'New Comers' section.

We hope you stay along with us for the entire year and look forward to catching up with you at our local meets. If you're not from Brisbane, be sure to catch the photos and video footage soon after, within the 'Vids', 'Showroom' and 'Events & Meets' sections of the forums.

Thanks,
The Mod Squad
